2023 is going to be a big year when it comes to game releases, as we already got Atomic Heart, Sons of the Forest, Resident Evil 4 Remake and Hogwarts Legacy, and also the Dead Space remaster was a huge success. But what about games that got announced, but don’t have such a big hype?

Hollow Knight: Silksong

Hollow Knight came out 2017, and was quite a success because it delivered a beautiful story and a unique metroidvania gameplay. Hollow Knight: Silksong was announced 2019 and since then… nothing! Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally intended as a DLC, but made its way to a standalone game.

Why Hasn’t it Been Released Yet?

Well, for one you should know that the team behind Hollow Knight is a pretty small team, consisting of only 3 people. This makes things a little bit harder when it comes to time managment and also surpassing the first Hollow Knight game. The game sold 3 million copies in the end, which makes the pressure alot harder as many people watch closely. We all know how the gaming community feels when they wait for a game and then are disappointed. The reason for not releasing it earlier is a mix of all those things, as Team Cherry is passionate about this.

RoboCop: Rogue City

The next game on the list is RoboCop: Rouge, the next project from Teyon, who are also responsible for Terminator: Resistance which was perceived quite well, as it delivered a close experience and homage to the movies. This gives us hope that RoboCop will have a similar experience.

RoboCop: Rogue City Release Date

The original release date of RoboCop: Rogue was June 2023, which got adjusted to September 2023, according to The Loadout. This means we’ll have to wait until the end of the year, but when it comes to games, the longer we wait, the more polished it will be in the end.

System Shock Remake

The next one in the list is System Shock, a remake from the original game that was released in 1994, which promises to keep the original gameplay mechanics with modern, up-to-date graphics and physics. This first person sci-fi shooter will be chaos, and it does look very good.

Release Date of System Shock

According to the steam store page of System Shock, the release date is set to 30 May, 2023. This means the wait has an end soon and hopefully this remake will keep its promises.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre

You read right, the movie series that had its ups and downs gets its own game. Featuring a team-based online PVP/Coop experience that resembles Dead by Daylight, but not entirely. While the setting is quite the same, there will be more attackers than in Dead by Daylight, where theres just 1. We hope that this game adds some unique, fresh twists to it so we can enjoy some good hours with our friends.

Release Date of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Sumo Digital announced that the game will be released on August 18, 2023, so we still have some time to wait. The game will be made available on all major platforms.

Final Words

These are four games out of many more, and we hope they all deliver on their promises.
