Man, today was one of those days where I just kept refreshing Twitter and Reddit because the news wouldn’t stop coming. Ubisoft actually had good news for once, Battlefield is printing money, HoYoverse dropped the most insane trailer I’ve seen all year, and yeah… GPU prices might be about to screw us again.

The Top News for November 21

Ubisoft just dropped their numbers and holy shit, they beat expectations. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is legitimately carrying the company right now. Yeah they’re still cutting 1,500 jobs (which sucks), but the Tencent deal is closing soon and they’re gonna save €100M. I’m not gonna lie, I thought Ubisoft was cooked after all the drama this year. Feels weird to say this, but… good for them?

Battlefield 6 is officially the best-selling game of 2025 in the US already. Not Black Myth, not GTA 6 (whenever that actually comes out), Battlefield. EA finally remembered how to make Battlefield again and we’re all eating good because of it.

HoYoverse’s Varsapura trailer dropped. 31 minutes of gameplay. This isn’t another gacha waifu collector this is straight-up photorealistic open-world carnage in Unreal Engine 5. Driving cars, hacking apart rot monsters, the combat looks heavier than Dark Souls… My wallet is in serious danger next year.

Xbox Partner Preview was stacked too:

  • Tides of Annihilation boss fight had me yelling at my monitor. That “Break the Mirror” sequence looks ridiculous.
  • Raji: Kaliyuga trailer was pure art. The first Raji was already gorgeous, this sequel looks like Indian mythology on acid.
  • Total Chaos just shadow-dropped today and it’s proper psychological horror. Perfect timing for the weekend if you want nightmares.
  • Shift Up is hiring writers and monster designers for Stellar Blade 2. Someone at that studio is reading our thirsty comments and saying “yes, and make it hornier.”

Hardware Side – The Good, The Bad, and the Black Friday Deals

Bad news first because I’m still mad about it: AMD cards (especially the RX 9070 XT) are probably getting price hikes soon thanks to memory shortages. If you’ve been sitting on a 7900 XTX or whatever, maybe stop waiting.

Good news: the Kingston NV3 2TB 2230 SSD is $149 right now and it’s perfect for Steam Deck, Legion Go, Ally, whatever. Tom’s Hardware called it the budget king and they’re not wrong. I just ordered two. Get it here: Kingston NV3 and if that is sold out (most likely) you can also look for the WD_Black SN770M 2TB.

Intel Core i5-14600K at $149. One hundred and forty-nine dollars. For 14 cores that still kicks the shit out of most games in 2025. If you’re still on a six-core CPU from 2018 like a caveman, fix your life. Get it here: Intel® Core™ i5-14600K Desktop Processor

Thats it

Today was a good day to be a gamer. Ubisoft isn’t dead, Battlefield is back, HoYoverse is cooking something insane, and there are actual good deals before Black Friday.

I’m gonna go watch that Varsapura trailer one more time and then probably cry about GPU prices.
